The colloquium is organised by the six SMARTEOLE project partners. It aims at giving the opportunity to share and debate with the international wind energy community the most major outcomes of the project.

The program will consist of invited keynote talks, selected oral presentations, including presentations on SMARTEOLE major outcomes, laboratory visits and networking activities.

 IMPORTANT NEWS:

- The program is online (click on sessions to see the details)

- The registration module is closed. Contact the organisers for late registration.

ABOUT THE SMARTEOLE PROJECT and OBJECTIVES

The 42-month SMARTEOLE project was launched on January 1st, 2015, following the French National Research Agency (ANR) call for projects on the theme "The energy efficiency of processes and systems". This project is aimed at improving the energy production efficiency and lifespan of wind turbines via the development of innovative control solutions. One of the major challenges for the development of the wind power sector is reducing the cost of the energy produced. SMARTEOLE will lead to the development of control techniques designed to improve the operating conditions of wind turbines. The challenge is to integrate innovative sensor systems in control design (particularly LiDAR), that are capable of accurately detecting incoming wind field characteristics. Innovative control technologies have been developed: active lift control at blade scale, LiDAR assisted yaw and pitch control at turbine scale, and wind turbine wake management at farm scale. They have formed the focus of a range of research, from fundamental research conducted at lab scale up to full-scale demonstration in real conditions.

SMARTEOLE project is funded by Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-14-CE05-0034).
